Dr. MacKay has lectured around the world on new developments in eye research. She has published more than 40 original peer reviewed scientific articles and abstracts, and several book chapters, on eye disease. She was co-director of the ERG clinic at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital for 25 years. She was the first woman to achieve the rank of Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Columbia University (the highest academic title).
